Raystone Apartments is a 15 building, 160-unit garden-style multi-family apartment community in Phoenix, AZ. The complex features a mix of 1, 2, and 3-bedroom units arranged in 2 story buildings across the property. Built in 1981, the all-electric property features mostly original building systems.

Through the RENU process, Raystone Apartments is expected to avoid 369 tons of CO2 each year. Planned RENU improvements include a full retrofit of existing HVAC, hot water, and lighting systems with high efficiency heat pumps, heat pump water heaters, and full LED lighting thus drastically improving unit energy resiliency and reducing energy demand.

With the aim of maximizing CO2 savings at Raystone Apartments, RENU plans to install approximately 57 kW (DC) of rooftop solar PV to offset house electric utility consumption.

Following the construction of the property’s new energy infrastructure, RENU will manage, maintain, and monitor these systems to maximize energy efficiency and environmental health through our integrated energy management and monitoring system.
